Not many people outside Mercedes have gotten their hands on the brand-new and first-ever CLE, but that's about to change soon. The three-pointed star brand should host the media launch of the car shortly, and later this year, they will kick off deliveries. And it's only a matter of time until tuners have their way with it.
Some of the biggest names in the industry are probably thinking of ways to give the Mercedes-Benz CLE more character. Thus, from new front and rear bumpers, diffusers, exhaust tips, wide fenders, fatter side skirts, and new wheels to completely reupholstered interiors and the usual amount of power boost, name it, and it will eventually be available for the models acting as successors to the two-door versions of the C- and E-Class.

Until that happens, however, we get a glimpse of what the tuned CLE will look like constantly, with a CGI twist. One of the latest digital illustrations of the car came from ildar_project on Instagram and imagines it with hips so wide that it looks ready to shake them. Besides the fender attachments, this virtual proposal has a new diffuser with a Formula 1-style integrated brake light, a bad-boy ducktail spoiler, a wider rear track, bigger wheels and tires, and some negative camber.

The lower parts of the body sport a yellow finish, and the rendering artist went for matte black for the trunk lid, roof, and probably the hood too. However, they only released a single rendering of the car at the time of writing, but it would be the logical approach to tweak the hood and install a large apron up front. The grille would probably mirror the looks of the Panamericana piece equipping numerous modern-day AMG vehicles, and the front wheel arch attachments would round off the project.

Since we mentioned the Affalterbach brand above, we might as well remind you that the CLE 63 is expected next year. Chances are it will get the same powertrain as the latest C 63 S E Performance, namely an electrified four-pot, kicking out a combined 670 brake horsepower (680 ps/500 kW) and 752 lb-ft (1,020 Nm) of torque. The C 63 has a 174 mph (280 kph) top speed and the ability to hit sixty-two mph (100 kph) in 3.4 seconds, and we expect similar performance from the range-topping CLE if it ends up getting this assembly.

However, not everyone is convinced that it will pack the hybridized 2.0L mill, as some say it could get a 3.0-liter six-pot with electric assistance shared with the next E 63. Guess we'll have to wait and see what powertrain it packs, and as we already told you, it is reportedly due sometime in 2024.
