One of the most common dreams of automotive enthusiasts is to drive a racing car. Many of us add a little extra spice to this fantasy, wishing to get behind the wheel of a motorsport-destined vehicle and take this on the road. Of course, such a car, if it were allowed to set wheel on public roads, would make salami out of your internal organs and torture every part of your body. However, there are some for whom nothing but the interaction with the controls and the thrills matters. This piece of news is dedicated to these special members of the automotive community.

As we are heading for the 2011 racing season, the world is experiencing a flood of racing vehicles that are ready to enter next year’s fierce track battles. The latest race car-related motorsport piece of news targets West Racing, which has just taken delivery of a Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560 GT, a car that will take part in next year’s American Le Mans Series (ALMS).

The Italian monster will meet the track for the first testing session in late January, when the team is heading for Sebring. Subsequently, the car will take part in the annual ALMS Winter Test, which is scheduled to be held on February 9-10.

West Racing’s COO/Technical Director Brian Ma, said that the team will announce its driver lineup by the end of the current year.

As you can see, the vehicles comes with certain motorsport goodies, such as the special lightweight windows, custom racing fuel line, roll cage, as well as massive aerodynamic elements (front splitter, rear wing and others).
