Waze is an essential tool for every modern driver who wants to deal with heavy traffic efficiently. Its crowdsourcing engine lets users stay informed about what happens on the road and avoid traffic jams, accidents, and incidents that could slow them down.
Thanks to the reporting engine, Waze always finds faster routes to a destination. However, users want more from the navigation app, including support for multiple stops.

If you've only used Waze, you probably didn't know that Google Maps and Apple Maps already come with multi-stop routes. Users can configure routes with multiple stops and get turn-by-turn guidance according to their itinerary.

People working in the delivery business can configure their days before getting behind the wheel and then let the navigation app provide guidance to each of the next stops. Apple Maps received multi-stop support recently, allowing users to configure up to 15 stops per route.

Waze has no intention of adding this feature, as a team member recently responded to user feedback in this regard. "This doesn't fit on our roadmap," they said, denying a potential multi-stop feature in Waze.

The current version of the application supports adding one extra stop beside the main destination. You can do this by setting up your destination and expanding the trip details. You should see a search icon that allows you to add a stop – it can be anything from another address, a gas station, a restaurant, or anything similar. Once you enable an extra stop, Waze turns the route highlighter on the map to purple, so you know you'll have one more stop before arriving at the destination.

According to the Waze team member, this feature is the best for additional stops, as the parent company prefers to focus on other new ideas to improve navigation.

Unfortunately, despite massive feature requests in this regard, Waze rarely brings new features and major updates to its navigation app. The multi-stop route feature has over 2,100 votes on Waze's feedback platform and is among today's top requests.

Waze has also promised to develop other features, including support for speed bump warnings. With such notifications, Waze would alert users when they approach a speed bump, giving them additional time to slow down safely. School zones could also make their way to Waze at some point with dedicated warnings when drivers are about to enter a region with special speed limits because of nearby schools.

For now, Waze spends more time fixing bugs and improving the app's performance, so you'd better not hold your breath for any features making their way to your device. You should still update the app to the latest version to benefit from the newest improvements regardless of your mobile platform.
