Manchester City football player Carlos Tevez doesn’t have any problem when he has to choose a top-class car, but it seems that driving the premium vehicles he buys on public roads is a bit of a challenge for the star.
Tevez’s Porsche Panamera was recently taken in by the police due to the fact that he didn’t have a valid UK license. The player was pulled over for a routine check in Didsbury, Manchester and the Argentinian showed the officers the license from his home country, which doesn’t make him eligible for driving on British roads.
“Shortly before 7.55pm on Thursday 15 November a traffic officer on patrol stopped a Porsche Panamera during routine inquiries. The officer spoke to the driver and seized the car under section 165 of the Road Traffic Act. The driver has now been summonsed for driving otherwise in accordance with a driving license,” a Greater Manchester Police spokesman said.
This is not the first time Tevez has his car seized due to driving license issues. Back in 2009, Tevez’s Betley Continental was taken away by the police when, during a control for window tint darkness, it was discovered that he was driving without a valid UK license, an issue that, according to the police, is common among Premiere League players.
