The Ducati MotoGP riders have lost the chance to test their machines on the Circuit of the Americas during the latest private test organized by Honda and in which Yamaha also took part. However, riders Nicky Hayden and Ben Spies have gotten a chance to see the COTA track before the second 2013 MotoGP.
They've not ridden the GP13 bikes, but were close to the top performance, as their visit at the COTA was occasioned by the launch of the Ducati 1199 Panigale R. Funny how Ducati has chosen this circuit and not another one for the event, isn't it?
Anyway, we're ever so glad to see Hayden getting a chance to ride on the COTA asphalt before the MotoGP season kicks off. Their racing machines are not in their best shape, and we know that having missed the private tests leaves the competition with a serious tactical advantage.
Now, that at last these two Ducati riders have met the COTA, the gap has been somewhat reduced, though nothing compares to the proper tests. Enjoy the 1199 Panigale R video, as we've already seen it ten times or so, already.
