Street Racing may be a pretty popular sport in Los Angeles, but the police isn’t exactly unaware of the situation. The latest example of this arrived over the past weekend, when the authorities managed to stop a massive racing even from taking place.
It all took place in Compton, where people had spread rumors about races that would gather between 500 and 700 cars, as well as over 2,000 spectators. The crowd stated gathering, with about 400 cars and 800 spectators being present.
The racers were starting to warm up, when the police stepped in, as you can see in the adjacent clip. However, the law enforcers used a rather mild approach, willing to send the racers home without any questioning.
At a certain point, there’s a helicopter that shows everybody it’s time to stop racing. A few hours later, some of the guys return to the scene only to find Crown Vics parked on the side of the road. Not a good day for science...
