Watch a Parachute Save a Nitrous-Boosted Camaro From Crashing

The great Mario Andretti once said: “It is amazing how may drivers, even at the Formula One Level, think that the brakes are for slowing the car down.” Well, it seems that we can say the same about the parachutes fitted to drag races.
The proof lies in the adjacent clip, which shows the driver of such a car using the parachute to save the vehicle front crashing at what seems to be a serious speed.

We are talking about a Nitrous-boosted Camaro that’s racing a twin-turbo Fox body Ford Mustang. As you can see in the video, both cars wiggle a bit on the track, which, according to the video uploader, had recently been visited by rain.

However, the Camaro enters a sliding state that would’ve obviously led to a crash, had the driver not used the parachute. Hit the “play” button below to see how this dance ends.
