Seeing a car burn to the ground is not a pretty sight. Unfortunately, for thousands of reasons, these things happen but most of the time, there’s someone in the vicinity to step in and lend a hand to rescue the unfortunate passengers or put out the fire.
But what if the car you’re in suddenly ignites in the middle of a deserted stretch of land, away from public roads and with dusk slowly setting in?

It happened to a guy named Casey Kaiser, a passionate off-roader and coincidently proud owner of a Youtube channel. Until earlier this month, he was also the proud owner of a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon which he used from time to time during his outdoor excursions.

The man planned one such adventure, which he calls Jeep Overland Grand Camping, back in late August. But what was supposed to be just another great trip turned into a blazing inferno.

One day during the trip, some 30 miles away from any civilized road, in a remote stretch of desert in Oregon, Kaiser decided to pull over.

He stopped the Jeep, and as soon as he got out he noticed smoke billowing up from under the hood. A weird sight, given the fact the man says he had no prior warning there was something wrong with the car.

Kaiser says that over the following two minutes, things started deteriorating really fast. As soon as he opened the hood, fire erupted from behind the motor, moving quickly inside the passenger compartment.

Despite using both fire extinguishers and a couple of gallons of water to try and contain the blaze, the man was unable to do so. So he did the next best thing: grabbed his phone and started shooting, while at the same time trying to prevent a car fire from becoming a vegetation fire.

The video of the incident is posted below, complete with a very detailed description of how it all went down. Action starts at minute 10:00.
