Lining your car up at the local drag strip may seem like a rather innocent activity whose worst case scenario is to put some extra stress on your powertrain, but people who have done this know that the dangers are far greater.
To illustrate how easy it is for a drag race to turn into a disaster, today we’ve brought along a clip that shows a 1,000 WHP Nissan GT-R almost losing it on the track.
The driver builds up full boost and, as the GT-R takes off, he encounters massive wheelspin, despite the supercar’s intelligent all-wheel drive system.
Not long after the starting line, the 1,000 WHP start working against the GT-R, with the car starting to get sideways. The driver has a very quick series of reactions and, together with the AWD and the computers, manages to save the situation. Judging by how violent the back stepped out, we believe there might have been oil on the track.
