One more tech spec has also been unveiled, the max torque. We're looking at a peak of 144 Nm (more than 104 ft-lbs) of asphalt-burning torque, clearly explaining why the 2014 KTM 1290 Super Duke R is not a toy for either new riders or the faint of heart.
Watching this video made me understand how important traction control will be on this bike, at least until the future owners will get to understand and tame the savage beast. It looks like keeping the front wheel down is a pretty difficult task right off idle.
Seeing the brutal display or raw power, I just hope that the 1290 Super Duke R will not become the next weapon of Darwin's natural selection.
