Waiter, There’s a Boa Snake in My MINI

We’ve heard of trapped kittens in the engine bay and all sorts of vermin making their way into a beat up old jalopy, but never something like this. A massive boa constrictor made its way into the comfortable space next to a headlight of a MINI Cooper. The story comes straight from the Bosch Car Service garage in Carringtons of Oxford, Great Britain, which was conducting a routine MOT.

Wayne Hunt, the Bosch technician carrying out the MOT on the MINI Cooper, was the one who found this could-blooded reptile while he put his hand under the bonnet to find the safety release catch. He reportedly felt something that seemed rather out of place, which turned out to be the five-foot long, five-inch thick snake. Thankfully, this isn’t a venomous species, otherwise he might have found himself in some serious trouble.

“We immediately called the RSPCA to collect the snake, since it didn’t belong to the customer and we had no idea who owned it. We also wanted to make sure we didn’t harm the reptile in removing it, as we’re more used to working on brakes than snakes!” Wayne said.

“The snake was dealt with properly and luckily it had done no damage to the car. The RSPCA told us that it looked thinner than it normally would, which could meant it had been living under the bonnet for a while. In all the years I have worked as a vehicle technician, I’ve never seen anything like it,”
the technician added.

It doesn’t really surprise us that this had never happened to him as this isn’t exactly a common sight in Britain. Given the fact that it’s not indigenous, we suspect Bosch is actually dealing with somebody’s pet here.
