The VW Beetle looks good, is reasonably fast for a car of it’s class and will most importantly is more unisex than the flower-holding model that came before it. It even has a decent diesel available in the States. All off that has basically nothing to do with the story at hand.
For whatever strange reason, Volkswagen is sponsoring Discovery Channel's 25th Shark. Usually, that would have meant a big VW logo on your screen during the commercials or Little Vader making a guest appearance, but no, they’ve taken things much further.
For whatever reason, some people who know more about these killers of the ocean than we do built a shark cage that looks like the Beetle. It comes with wheels and tires, brakes, a steering wheel and the overall shape of the 2013 Beetle. That’s about all we could see in the short trailer, but you’ll be able to find out more once Shark Week begins August 12th.
