Guaranteed to make your friends soil themselves is a shark-style submersible coming from Innespace Productions, a watercraft design and fabrication company in Northern California. Based on the dolphin inspired Seabreacher J, the Seabreacher X sports a more aggressive Shark style body as well as upgraded interior treatments.
“This is the vessel we've always wanted to build,” says company co-owner Rob Innes. “The power and agility of this vessel is insane!”
The X model comes with a 260hp supercharged engine, propelling the vessel to a top speed of 50 mph on the surface and 25 mph below.
The new boat can sustain high speed dives and then breach the surface, launching the entire vessel clear out of the water. The new fully vectored thrust system mimic the tail articulation of real aquatic animals like sharks and dolphins. The Seabreacher X also comes with mouth-shaped viewports for enhanced underwater visibility and removable lifting eyes for launching from a yacht mounted davit.
Some other high tech features that are incorporated into the two-seat vessel: a snorkel mounted video camera transmits live video to LCD screens for the pilot and passenger during dives, GPS navigation, and on board stereo with iPod docking.
Safety wise, the watercraft comes fitted with collapsible nose section in the event of frontal impact, break-away wing tips, onboard fire extinguisher and carbon monoxide detector, as well as an inflatable aircraft seal that keeps the cockpit and engine bay water tight.
The Innespace vessels start at about US$60,000, but vary depending on the number of options that a customer chooses. Pricing for the limited edition X model goes for a little over $80,000. The company plans to build just 10 of this particular model.
