VW Australia Named its Dealer of the Year 2009

The Dealer of the Year Awards have never been more important as they usually are this year, as the recession made car sales drop all over the world and forced dealers to struggle for each sale. Volkswagen Australia decided to award the ones which coped with the situation the best.

Dealer Principal of Burwin Volkswagen, Victoria, has been named the winner of the 2009 Volkswagen Dealer of the Year Awards by Volkswagen Group Australia. The gala was held in Sydney on Saturday.

“Burwin Volkswagen again performed incredibly well and is a deserving winner for the second year in a row at the Volkswagen Dealer of the Year Awards for 2009. Recognition has to be given to the entire Volkswagen dealer network though for their commitment to the brand in 2009. The Volkswagen brand in Australia can be proud to be represented by such a dedicated group of dealerships and dealership staff,” said Ms Anke Koeckler, Volkswagen Group Australia’s Managing Director.

A total of six awards including regional categories as well as the overall Commercial Vehicle Dealer of the Year and the National Dealer of the Year were announced.

The 6 trophies were handed over to:

• Southern Region Dealer of the Year – Burwin Volkswagen, VIC
• Central Region Dealer of the Year – Barloworld Volkswagen, Five Dock, NSW
• Northern Region Dealer of the Year – Ian Boettcher Volkswagen, QLD
• Western Region Dealer of the Year – Albany Volkswagen, WA
• Rural Dealer of the Year – Dutton Volkswagen, SA
• Commercial Vehicle Dealer of the Year – Bayford Volkswagen Commercial Centre, VIC Volkswagen Group Australia congratulates all the winning dealers and their dealership staff
