Audi to Renovate all Australian Dealerships by 2010

Most of you still remember the American car dealers' fiasco. Due to the recession, some car manufacturers from the US decided to close some dealerships in the country. The number was so large that 2009 is registered as the year with record showrooms closures. Though some got turned into yoga studios, grocery stores or hairdressers, it’s not all bad.

There are still dealers out there that invest in their dealerships. This is the case of the Australian dealer of Audi, located in Launceston, which just officially opened it dealership. The refurbished facility is now bigger, and contains an indoor display area for seven new Audi vehicles, an outdoor area which will hold up to 10 Audi Approved Plus vehicles and two dedicated diagnostic bays, plus two dedicated service bays which will ensure that aftersales service for the brand.

“This stunning new rural facility is now a great reflection of the success of the brand here. In 2006, the market share of Audi was 12.9 percent, and this has now grown to 20 percent in 2009,” Audi Australia’s Head of Sales, Andrew Doyle said.

“This new facility was needed in order for the dealership to continue its growth path here, given the onslaught of new Audi models which are expected to arrive until 2015.

“Together with our partners, Bruce Stevenson and Allan Marsh, we believe Audi has a bright future in Launceston and this new dealership is the first major step towards market leadership here,”
Mr Doyle said.

The renovation is part of Audi Australia’s program, which states that every single Audi dealership around Australia will have undergone, or be in the midst, of major renovations, or complete rebuilds by 2010 in line with the company’s dynamic growth strategy. In total, around $170 million will be invested in new facilities by the Audi dealer network around the country.
