In today’s “what kind of stupid things people do for likes” news, one driver from Ewell, Epsom in Surrey, UK, had himself filmed while he deliberately hit a cyclist.
Some social media users will pose a storm to get the right pic to use, even if that means spending 2 full hours pouting in front of the phone. Others, like this dumbass, will go and target a poor cyclist, ram him with the car and then use the video to get more likes.
The Daily Mail has contacted the police for comment on the incident, but as of the time of writing, they haven’t heard nothing back on a possible investigation. The tab says the hit and run was intentional, and they have video that seems to suggest just that.
“In the appalling clip, the driver can be heard laughing as he deliberately slams into the male cyclist with his Volkswagen car and forcing him off his bike,” the Mail says. “The video has been shared across Instagram this weekend.”
However, the original and several versions of it have since been pulled, after complaints from other users.
That doesn’t make the driver’s gesture less sickening, though. The video shows to little doubt that he pursued the cyclist and then, right after a left turn, hit him with the car. He then drove off as he and his mate were cackling satisfied.
The video ends as the car drives off, with the cyclist still on the road, still not quite able to believe what had happened to him. If the police do end up investigating the hit and run, they would probably not have too much trouble tracking the dude down, since he posted evidence of it on his social media accounts.
Still, this feels like scrapping the bottom of the barrel just to get likes, doesn’t it.
