The great outdoors meets capacity to carry lots of construction materials in the latest special edition pickup truck from Volkswagen, the Amarok Canyon, which has just gone on sale in Britain.
Featuring its own distinctive look, the same rugged pickup as it's always been, but costs £28,990 while offering £8,500 worth of additional equipment. Among other goodies that make this a good value truck, it comes with things like satellite navigation with a six-inch colour touchscreen,Bluetooth, 19-inch Cantera alloy wheels and heated leather seats. Parking sensors are standard at all corners and the Canyon has its own distinct personality.

A leather steering wheel with red stitching and two-tone Moonrock (light grey) and Anthracite (dark grey) seat upholstery will make you feel like you're in an upscale vehicle like a Passat, not a work truck. The exterior also brings something from an altogether different genre of cars: sporty orange paint, black trim and even tinted windows.

There will be a total of 350 examples available, 50 with a a six-speed manual and 300 with an eight-speed auto costing £30,720. But both models get the same powerful 2.0-liter BiTDI 180 PS engine with 420 Nm of torque.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
