It may be a sports sedan, but the Cadillac CT5 can undoubtedly hold its ground against some punchy machines, especially if we're talking about the range-topping flavor of the series that adds the Blackwing suffix.
Replacing the ATS in the premium car brand's lineup, the Cadillac CT4 shares many components with the larger CT5 and the sixth-gen Chevy Camaro. It's offered with straight-four turbos, though the model that keeps enthusiasts up at night uses a V6 with forced induction.

The 3.6-liter twin-turbo engine produces 472 horsepower (479 ps/357 kW) and 445 pound-feet (603 Nm) of torque. It comes standard with a stick shift that has six gears, though the ten-speed auto can be ordered as an option.

Caddy quotes 3.9 seconds for the 0-60 mph (0 to 97 kph) and a 190 mph (306 kph) top speed. By comparison, the base BMW M3 Sedan, which is one of its biggest rivals, is two-tenths slower and uses a 3.0-liter twin-turbo straight-six making 473 hp (480 ps/353 kW) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. The 503 hp (510 ps/375 kW) Competition drops the sprint time to 3.8 seconds, and the xDrive AWD model can do it in 3.4 seconds.

But this is not about the M3 nor another sports sedan, as the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing was recently set loose against something that sits in the upper sports car zone: the Porsche 911. The German model appears to be a GTS from the 991 generation. If that's correct, then it offers similar straight-line performance to the Caddy, as long as it hasn't had its oily bits tampered with, and it does not look like it.

From naught to sixty, the Porsche 911 GTS is equally fast to the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing when had with the auto 'box. It offers an identical top speed, but this is where the similarities end. Its gasoline-fed engine pumps out 430 horsepower, so the balance tilts in favor of its ad-hoc four-door challenger in this chapter, which boasts 40 more horses.

Due to the tight numbers, the drivers play a key role here, as achieving the perfect takeoff could be the difference between winning and losing. These two go-fast machines were pinned against each other in a drag race from a 60 mph rolling start, said to have taken place at the Pocono Raceway in Pennsylvania during the Racemotive event.

This would be a good time to place a little bet before heading down and clicking the play button to watch the drag race. Mind you, spotting the winner may be a bit tricky due to the filming angle, but it's all in the details. That said, this is the part where we invite you to watch the vid. So, enjoy!
