VIA IVP-7500 In-Vehicle Platform for HQ Multimedia Content

VIA Technologies, Inc. today launched the VIA IVP-7500 board, a dedicated x86 in-vehicle platform that can support basically all kinds of in-car entertainment content. As you know, in-vehicle computers provide a wide array of functions, giving you access to a number of services such as navigation, rear-view cameras, audio and video files. The new IVP-7500 is capable of supporting all these functions plus many others, VIA Technologies claim.

And to get to more technical stuff, the board comes equipped with a fanless 1.0GHz VIA Eden processor, supporting up to 1GB of DDR2 system memory. As mentioned, it is compatible with many audio and video devices as it incorporates TV-out and VGA outputs, camera ports with A/V and V-CAM, mini USB port plus an LCD (TTL) panel information.

Since storage is fairly important nowadays, the IVP-7500 provides IDE 1.8-inch hard drive support as well as compatibility with SD cards. HD audio comes with optional SPK (R+L) and Mic-in connectors.

In terms of communications, the board feature a GPS module with IPEX antenna, FM stereo transmission and Bluetooth. Connectivity is enhanced with the help of two USB 2.0 ports plus and infrared adapter and a COM port.
