Vettel Dismisses Ferrari Rumors

Amid recent allegations that Sebastian Vettel is flirting more and more with the idea of joining Ferrari in the near future – we're talking 2013 here – the German driver stepped in and cleared all rumors on such a move.

In a recent interview with Sport Bild, the 23-year old driver insists that he has returned focus on his Red Bull team and that there is no reason in the world why he would leave a championship winning squad right now.

There is no reason for me to go elsewhere,” said the reigning world champion, while adding that once you've found a winning car in F1, it's nonsense to let it go.

You think about how to get the best possible package,” he added. “And I feel very good with Red Bull.”

In addition, he shared with the German publication a revelation that he had when walking down the paddock and into the pits during the first group test of February, in Valencia. It was when he first saw the No 1 mark (which he so often fingered to the media following his race wins or qualifying successes) attached to his car.

The blue of my car was shining particularly nicely; I could see the number 1; I thought to myself 'Boy, life is good!'” he added.

Vettel's contract with Red Bull runs through the 2011 season, with the Austrian team having the first option on a one-year extension. However, it is believed the Milton Keynes based team will seek for a contract extension until 2015, which should keep Vettel out of the drivers' market for quite some time.
