Yacht designers are constantly trying to raise the standards of aesthetics, liveability, and comfort on board their vessels to meet the needs of the most discerning clientele.
Golden Yachts, which specializes in high-end large yacht construction, has designed its latest yacht concept with a new generation of yacht owners in mind, aiming to offer them the perfect setting for creating a deeper connection with the surrounding ocean and "a more casual use of the vessel with family and friends."

Vesper is the name of the Greek shipyard's latest project, which has been designed in collaboration with Phathom Studio. The new superyacht measures 213 feet (65 meters) in length and marries a sleek exterior design with a sophisticated, contemporary interior.

It features a unique layout that allowed the designers at the Dutch studio to play with light and space in an attempt to create more seamlessly connected onboard spaces and facilitate true alfresco living.

Large expanses of glass bring the outside world in and allow for unobstructed views of the surroundings. The use of glazing is consistent throughout the vessel, and besides the floor-to-ceiling windows, there is also a floating staircase and a glass lift. The expansive windows invite plenty of natural light inside to highlight the calm tones and textures used for the interiors.

What makes this superyacht concept stand out is the continuous link between decks, which the designers say should create a yacht "more akin to an architectural residence than a typical 213-foot superyacht." The result is a refined open-plan layout that prioritizes the connection with the sea. The living quarters include five similarly-sized guest cabins on the lower deck, plus a VIP cabin on the upper deck.

As you would expect from a luxury watercraft, the owner will benefit from a private two-level suite with two en suites, a generous lounge area, and an adjoining study. The owner's residence has access to a private balcony that looks like an outdoor oasis of relaxation and calm. It comprises an infinity spa pool, a rock water accent wall, and an outdoor lounge.

The designers' focus on wellness with this new yacht is conspicuous, though the placement of the sauna and steam room is a departure from the norm. These facilities can be found on the sundeck, where guests can enjoy the views through oversized windows. The enclosed portion of the sundeck can also be configured with a gym, a day galley, or a juice bar.

The departure from conventional arrangements is also visible in the configuration of the main deck, which will be split into multiple zones where guests can divide into smaller groups but still feel that they share the same space. This apparent separation between common areas and isolated spaces continues on the beach club, where a glass wall connects the oversized infinity pool with the pool bar. With this hatch closed, you have two separate spaces, but you can open it up to allow guests to mingle.

In order to allow guests to fully enjoy the surrounding water and make the most of the yachting experience, Vesper will come equipped with an arsenal of water toys, including two three-seater Waverunners and four differently-sized tenders.

With this new design, Golden Yachts and Phathom Studio designers also aim to meet the technology standards of the younger generation of yacht owners. As such, they endowed Vesper with a human-centric lighting system that automatically adjusts itself to mimic the outdoor light. Moreover, the use of smart glass in the design enables solar heat control onboard.
