Vauxhall’s Student Placement Scheme Among the Best in the UK

According to a recent company press release, Vauxhall Motors’ student placement scheme has been recognized as being one of the best in the UK, as its merits have been noted by the National Council for Work Experience (NCWE) Award 2011 in the ‘Over 250 Employees’ category.

Under Vauxhall Motors’ long-standing placement scheme, any successful student is guaranteed to receive extensive training in different parts of the business and works to a high level of autonomy and responsibility also including exposure to all levels of the business.

Many of these placements even include travel across the UK and dealing with Vauxhall’s sites in Luton and Ellesmere Port, agencies in London and various dealerships. In fact, in some instances traveling abroad could be considered to be on the agenda.

Students will also get a chance to interact in the international environment, as Vauxhall is an integral part of General Motors’ global network. They will also gain experience from specialists in all sectors of the business such as engineering, manufacturing, design or branding.

Many undergraduates will go on to achieve strong university grades following an intensive year at Vauxhall, which also lays the foundations for a successful career.

The company gives Vauxhall’s Managing Director, Duncan Aldred, as an example, as he originally started his involvement with the company as a placement student a number of years ago. “As a former undergraduate benefiting from a placement at Vauxhall, I can vouch for our scheme’s high standards which are rising every year. The scheme permits our students to make a real contribution to the business and to grow in confidence as the year passes by,” says Duncan Aldred.
