Vauxhall Sponsors England, Wales Soccer Teams

And the picture is complete. After announcing the signing of sponsorship agreements with the national soccer teams from Northern Ireland and Scotland, British car manufacturer Vauxhall now covers the entire British isles, with the same type of sponsorship deals announced for the home teams of England and Wales.

As is the case with the other two deals, these ones too will be in effect for the next three-and-a-half years, reaching and including the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. With this choice of extraordinary teams and two major championships in between now and the expiration of the contract, it's very likely the brand will get quite a bit of exposure amidst soccer fans in the years to come.

“We are not only committed to helping the England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales national senior teams compete successfully on the international stage but as a forward-thinking company we are also focussed on developing grass roots initiatives covering youth, junior football and women's football,” said Vauxhall Managing Director Duncan Aldred.

The financial aspects of the deal between the car maker and the British soccer governing body were not unveiled. The brand, so far confined in between the borders of the United Kingdom, is planning to get the much needed exposure in light of parent company Opel's plans to go global in the years to come.

“We are delighted to have concluded an agreement with an organisation of Vauxhall’s calibre,”
said Stewart Regan, Scottish FA chief executive.

“Vauxhall is a perfect fit in so many ways, not least the fact they are a British vehicle manufacturer with a 108-year heritage of car manufacturing in the UK.”
