Compared to other models in its range, the ecoFLEX Zafira gets improvements in terms of fuel economy, with a combined figure of 53.3 mpg for the 1.7 liter engine as compared to 47.1 mpg for the 1.9l. The autonomy of this vehicles reaches 680 miles with a full tank.
Having lower CO2 emissions, the ecoFLEX Zafira is the first model accepted as Brand C for Vehicle Excise Duty, which costs approximately 120£/year. BIK tax for this vehicle has been lowered to 18%, which makes it the lowest tax class for a seven seater car in the United Kingdom .
The eco-friendly changes that were made to the Zafira didn't affect the vehicle's performance at all, as the 1.7 liter CDTi engine produces 110 HP and 260 Nm of torque with an acceleration from 0-60mph in 12.6 seconds and a maximum speed of 112 mph. The same ecoFLEX engine can be found on Vauxhall Astra.
This vehicle has convertible back seats, which can make the vehicle useable for more luggage. The ecoFLEX Zafira is equipped with six full-size airbags, ABS system and a radio/CD player as standard features on all trim levels.
The price for the 1.7l ecoFLEX Zafira is £17,319, just £100 more compared to the 1.9 CDTi 120PS model.
Apparently, Vauxhall is also preparing two additional ecoFLEX models for 2009: a 109g/km Corsa CDTi, with a fuel economy of 69 mpg (57 mpg US) and a new low emission, Insignia sedan.
