If fuel efficiency is your main concern when choosing a car, then Vauxhall may have the right car for you, in the form of a revised version of their popular Corsa, which now uses up just 85.6 mpg, and emits just 88 g/km of CO2, called the ecoFLEX Start/Stop.
These figures better the non-revised car’s by 2.4 mpg, and 6 g/km. The low figures are achieved with the use of a Start/Stop system, as well as a number of enhancements operated over the previous car. It features a variable geometry oil pump, which improves not only the flow of oil, but also the efficiency. Low-viscosity transmission fluid is also used, for the reworked five-speed gearbox, which is now more pleasant and efficient to use.

Performance is still adequate, with the 95 hp engine pushing the little Corsa to 62 mph in 12.3 seconds, before topping out at 109 mph. Despite the fact that the engine only displaces 1.3 liters, it still gets a generous torque rating, of 190 Nm, which is available between 1,750 and 3,250 rpm.
