The three-door 500 Avarth has become available as a convertible of sorts in the US today, after the model was revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
As far as fun in the sun goes, this promises to be a hood one, since it offers the same 1.4-liter turbo with 160 horsepower and 155 lb-ft of torque. You won’t be racing the 911 Cabrio between the lights any time soon, but the zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) “in the low seven-second range” suggests you can have fun in the real world.
But the 500C Abarth isn’t just a Fiat 500C with a bigger engine. The car you see here in this first official video is equipped with lots of performance goodies, such as stiffer suspension, 16-inch alloy wheels as standard (17s available optionally), as well as torsional and roll resisting bars.
the Abarth also has 10% quicker steering system and three settings for the stability control (on, off and an in-between setting).
So if you want a sexy Italian car the size of a shoe but packing plenty of power and character, this could be just the ticket.
