As of recent months, the pickup segment in the United States was met with high demand for heavy-duty models. Due to its popularity and low starting MSRP, the 2014 Toyota Tacoma Double Cab sits at the top of July's fastest-selling pickup trucks list.
The second and third fastest-selling pickups in the month were GMC models, namely the 2015 GMC Sierra Denali 2500 HD Crew Cab and the 3500, closely followed by the Toyota Tacoma in Extended and Regular Cab guise. Chevrolet's 2015 model year Silverado 3500 HD Regular Cab got sixth place.
Seventh place was awarded to the only light-duty truck of the top 10 fastest-sellling pickups in July - the 2014 GMC Sierra Denali 1500 Crew Cab. The last three best performers are the 2015 Ford F-350 Super Duty Crew Cab and Regular Cab, together with the 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD Crew Cab.
As for the slowest-selling nameplates, pickuptrucks.com hints that the list consists of only 2014 model year trucks. The slowest-selling of them all is the Chevrolet Silverado 3500 HD Regular Cab, while the following four places are full of GMC Sierra heavy-duty trucks. Curiously, there's no Ford model in this list, not even the almost out of production 2014 F-150. Also, why is there no Ram in either lists? What do these results tell about the industry at first glance?
Update, update, update! New engines, new customization options or even decal packs, whatever, the usual pickup truck customers wants new stuff. Moreover, don't forget about how a certain model stacks up in terms of maximum towing capacity compared to its rivals. Most heavy-duty customers need the best-in-class and would like to choose their next truck according to the SAE J2807 standard.
