With the demise of the Chevy Camaro and the C8 Corvette going for $70k, the only affordable alternative for pony and muscle car fans is now the S650 Ford Mustang – even the Dark Horse Premium doesn't cost much more than $63k. What about the Mopars, you say?
Well, Stellantis has ordained a new Mopar lifestyle – the Chrysler 300C muscle sedan just ended production, and the 2023 Dodge Challenger and Charger are living their final moments of production with help from the seven 'Last Call' special editions. No one knows what will happen with the Challenger nameplate after that, but a little bit of Christmas advertising revealed that the next Charger is indeed going back to its two-door roots.

Almost everyone expects the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT concept to lead the way in design and catapult the iconic moniker into a new era of Banshee EV prowess. The rumor mill also thinks that because EV sales are still way below expectations, Dodge will be wise enough to give the next-gen Charger access to ICE power, too – in the form of standard and H/O versions of the 3.0-liter Hurricane inline-six turbo mills with 420 and 510 or 540 horsepower.

But we did say 'almost everyone' earlier, didn't we? As it turns out, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators still has unnatural visions about how the 2025 Charger should look if they skip a beat with the 2024MY. For example, the good folks behind the Real Automotive channel on YouTube have the latest scoops coordinated with their unofficial CGI depictions of the 2025 Charger – and it's nothing like Dodge envisions it based on the Charger Daytona SRT.

Instead, the channel's resident pixel master went wild and – probably with ample help from AI software – dreamed of a Charger that would take both two-door and four-door sedan duties at the same time. The coupe looks modern instead of retro and even sports a strip of pixel-like LEDs instead of Dodge's badge, signaling this could very well turn into a sub-brand.

Interestingly, there's also a four-door saloon version – albeit with small rear doors (kind of like on the Mazda RX-8, though it's unclear if they are rear-hinged, as well) and with big vents embedded into them as if we are dealing with something that has a mid-engine configuration. Of course, this could also be the artist's vision about better airflow for the rear brakes – anything is possible across the parallel universes of vehicular CGI.

Anyway, do take all these renderings with a healthy dose of salt – mainly because all signs in the real world point toward Dodge implementing the Charger Daytona SRT design into production with minimal changes and with both ICE and EV power under the hood. It's going to be interesting to see how it fares against the only other rival – Ford's Mustang, which relies solely on turbo and V8 gas engines to get the pony and muscle car things done.
