When it comes to cars, everyone claims that theirs is unique. And, in most cases that’s true because every single car out there has a different owner, a different driver and gets exploited in a different way. Still, most of the time a lot of them are barely showing distinguishing aspects.
It’s not the case with the M5 we’re about to show you. It belongs to Harold Atkins, the regional chairman of the Corvette Club of America, a man that knows a thing or two about cars. That’s showing the moment you lay eyes on his 2006 BMW E60 M5.

The dedication and inspiration he showed when building this car seem out of this world. Being a respected figure in the field, it was rather surprising to choose a BMW instead of a ‘Vette but the end result is just mind blowing

The exterior

On the outside there’s a unique combination of parts that make the controversial Bangle design stand out every time. There’s a set of MTEC 6W 7K angel eyes installed in the headlights that are now smoked, alogn with PIAA LED DRL, a custom OEM 1M to M5 front bumper conversion with a carbon fiber GT lip, a JME custom GT hood with vents and that’s just for the front fascia.

Moving along you’ll also notice the smoked LCI taillights, carbon fiber side door pillars, carbon fiber lower mirror covers complemented by the custom painted upper covers, the gloss black painted roof, F10 side gills, the custom side skirts extenders, the Hamann roof spoiler and carbon fiber trunk.

The interior

Inside, Dinan signature floor mats welcome you along with a pedal set while the e-brake comes from Hamann, the headliner is all Alcantara while the seats have active bolsters. Of course, heated seats go all around, front and back as well as ventilation for them for those sunny days when you’ll be protected by the rear sunshades.

What’s under the bonnet?

In terms of performance, since the engine is the world-famous S85 naturally aspirated 5-liter V10, Harold went for the Dinan works. He installed a free flow exhaust with black tips, a high-flow air mass meter together with the intake assemblies, a Stage 3 engine remap, carbon fiber front strut tower brace, a stage 2 suspension, new adjustable anti-roll bars, all of them from the American tuner. The only exception was the RPI Ram air scoops.

When it comes to stopping power, the Brembo GT big brake kit steps in with 6-piston front calipers and 4-piston rear ones. At the same time, the brake lines were upgraded to stainless steel.

To top everything off, a set of custom wheels was needed as well, Avant Garde F220 20” Staggered ones being considered fit for the job with a brushed gunmetal face and custom tinted clearcoat and chrome lips all around.

Considering the work and parts that went into making this car, and the fact that you’d be getting a nearly completely custom M5, the $59,000 price tag seems justifiable. If you’re interested, contact RRT Racing.
