If you’re European and you’re into aftermarket products for your car, ECU tweaks and stuff like that, we have important news for you: UK turbocharger specialist Owen Developments announced it has taken over the sole distribution, sales and marketing rights for the performance enhancing Dastek Unichip aftermarket engine management system for the European Union.
If you don’t know what we’re talking about, things are this way: Unichip ECU is a product of engine management specialists Dastek meant to give your engine more power and efficiency. The product tweaks your car’s ECU and can be fitted on both diesel and petrol engines, whether they are turbocharged or naturally aspirated.
Owen Developments, the new distributor for Europe, has a long lasting relationship with Unichip, as they were responsible for the development and validation of the Mitsubishi L200 performance upgrade. Before any official statement was made, Unichip Europe’s staff have been relocated to a new industrial near Owen Development headquarters. The restructuring process of the UK dealer network has already begun.
“After nearly a decade of involvement with Unichip it’s extremely satisfying that Owen Developments is now in charge of the European program on behalf of Dastek. The Unichip is a very exciting product with enormous potential and we look forward to writing a new chapter of success with Unichip Europe Managing Director Henk Gouws, across a wide variety of markets,” said Owen Development’s MD Brian Owen.
