Valeo Management Appointments Announced

French supplier Valeo announced yesterday the changes it has made to its top management, as part of the reorganization of its business group. According to Valeo, the new management structure is simpler and strengthens the role of the company's country organizations.

"I am convinced that this new organization will enable the group to better respond to the challenges of the automotive industry by identifying strong synergies and by managing more efficiently and in closer proximity to our customers in markets with high growth potential," Valeo CEO Jacques Aschenbroich was quoted as saying by Autonews.

The new CEO, who replaced Thierry Morin on March 20, said the old organization, divided into eleven branches, was no longer fit to cope with the globalization of the company's customers and markets.

The new management structure Valeo put in place looks as follows:

  • Christophe Perillat – head of the new comfort and detection systems business group (interior controls, security systems and driving assistance products).
  • Michael Schwenzer – head of the new powertrain systems business unit (engine and electrical systems, transmissions and powertrain efficiency products).
  • Alain Marmugi – head of the new thermal systems unit (climate control, compressors and engine cooling and comfort enhancement products).
  • Antoine Doutriaux - head of visibility systems (lighting and wiper systems).

With a new management and company structure, as well as with the shedding of the 5,000 workers it announced it will let go ever since last year, Valeo now looks forward to the rebound in vehicle production in the third quarter, as it predicted in the end of July.
