If ever there was any doubt that the Audi R8 was a supercar, here’s one that makes 1,100 horsepower... that wheel horsepower.
The masterpiece was created by the guys at Underground Racing, who had one of the rare R8 GT V10 versions of the coupe, of which 333 are to be built. When they leave the factory, they do so as the most impressive Audi model ever, with 560 horsepower coming from a 5.2-liter FSI V10.
That’s not enough if you live in Texas and gas is cheap. So you go to Underground Racing, who know how to fit twin turbos onto Lamborghini Gallardo blindfolded because they’ve done tens of them.
What’s good enough for the Raging Bull is also good enough for an Audi, so Stage 3 tuning gets the R8 GT all the way to 1,100 at the wheels.
