A chance to ride in BMW’s new flagship even before it hits the US market? Wow, that has to be one of the biggest marketing gigs Uber has pulled out lately. Sure, it was just for one day, and it only ran in some cities throughout the country, but people, we hope you had your cameras ready.
We’ve seen the G11 7 Series model in the flesh a couple of times before, and we can tell you this much: it’s a head-turner alright. The new flagship in the German automaker’s lineup is loaded with top-notch tech on the market, and that is just half of the tale this storyteller has to say.

25 brand firsts - that’s how many BMW claims the new 7er has, as well as 13 industry-wide ones, technology features that are not yet available in the mainstream. Yes, yes, but what’s cooler than being cool?

Well, let us start with a couple of these enhancements: the carbon core safety cell, the new CLAR platform the cars are built on, as well as laser headlights, gesture control, 3D surround view cameras, you name it, this bad boy has it all on board.

Not to get ahead of ourselves, but we can’t wait to get our hands on the 7 Series. Until then, however, make sure you tell us if you got a ride with Uber first.

The offer kicked off at 12 pm and ran through 8 pm yesterday. All customers had to do to take advantage of it was to tap the menu in the upper left corner of the app and select Promotions. Then they had to enter their city’s promo code and request the BMW 7 Series for the ride. If you're not from Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami or New York, there wasn't much left to do.

Don’t be sad, though, even those who live in these cities may have not received a ride considering that the demand most likely was huge. Still, we have to say Uber has surprised us with this one.
