One of these two beauties here with big fat tires at the back is cranking between 1600 - 1700 hp while the other one is only making a couple hundreds less. It is absolutely unbelievable how much tuners can squeeze out of these 3-liter engines using forced induction and nitrous.
Although these kind of machines are best to stay on drag strips, the guys here decided to flex their muscles on some highway in Florida diring night time when there’s less traffic.
When the loss of traction becomes a problem
The problem is that, unlike on a professional rubber-layered drag strip, the highway was not grippy at all and the asphalt was also a bit cold. Which means loss of traction from time to time. Yeah, you won’t have any problems in you econobox driving around, but when you have over 1,000 ponies under your right foot, traction becomes of much interest.
Especially when your transmission can’t cope with the amount of torque when you suddenly loose and regain traction around 140 mph (225 km/h). The shocks that generate then are high enough to shred gear teeth.
