Brakes are very important, and the heavier the vehicle, the the more inertia they have to deal with. For trucks, if their brakes were to fail, they would roll on for a while, before all the energy would dissipate. This Russian truck driver realizes he has no brakes as he is approaching the rear of a small sedan, on the highway.
He tries to thread his rig through the very small gaps left in between the cars, but of course he snags a few cars along the way - we counted nine in total. This video is very scary and it shows just how dangerous one of these trucks with no brakes can be. It reminds us of another braking fail-related incident, on a Russian mountain road, a while back - it was so bad, it even caused an explosion.
This time, nobody seems to have been injured, but if the truck driver would have ended up in the oncoming lanes, the situation would have been considerably worse, so it’s better that it happened this way, as the driver showed good skill at controlling it (despite all the crashes).
