Toyota UK Offering Free Fuel for Six Months with New Yaris

Toyota is giving its British customers six months’ free fuel to get their new Yaris all the juice it needs in its first half-year of life. The announcement was made on April 1st, but the carmaker has reassured us that this is no joke.

The offers, which applies to any new Yaris ordered between April 1st and the 30th and registered before June 30th, is worth about £500 given the current price of filling up in the UK. The amount of fuel provided is enough to cover a total of 5,000 miles at the wheel of the 1.0-liter VVT-i petrol model, which Toyota say returns an official 55.4 mpg combined cycle fuel economy (UK figures).

Taking advantage of your benefits is easy and straightforward. New Yaris customers will receive a personal, pre-paid card, just like a gift card, to the value of £548.15, which can be used with a PIN to pay for fuel at any UK retailer. Once all the money has been spent, the card can simply be discarded.

“With the highest petrol and diesel prices we’ve seen for years, it’s the perfect time for Toyota to take the initiative and give our customers a benefit that’s of real value day-to-day,”
said Commercial Director, Matt Harrison.

“Thanks to their Toyota Optimal Drive powertrains, Yaris petrol and diesel models are among the most fuel and emissions-efficient in their class, so even when the free fuel has been used up, they will be costing their owners a lot less to run than many of their rivals.”
