Every pizza delivery guy and first time 18-year old car buyer waiting to get his license knows about the Toyota-PSA triplets. Citroen has its C1, Peugeot has the 107 and Toyota the Aygo. They are built in the same factory with the same engines and options, but differ though their front end design.
Originally launched back in 2005, all three are due to be replaced soon. Of the three companies, Peugeot was the first to announce the new 108, which has been fully revealed last week. Now, Toyota says their new Aygo is on track for a Geneva Motor Show debut as well, where it will be presented on March 4th.
Only teasers are available right now, but they were enough to get a good idea of what's going on. The letter X is obviously a design them and will likely be incorporated into the grille. Toyota is calling the new design language "J-Playful", meaning there will be a strong Japanese theme, strange for a car built the Czech Republic together with a French partner.
We'll let it slide because Toyota seems to be going the extra mile with its design. The Peugeot 108 looked like a posh hardback, but the Aygo is like an old iPod MP3 player, really youthful and brash.
