It’s been a while since we last talked about Tata Motors, an automaker who should be working on an updated version of its Nano city car. Last time we reported about the Nano, the Indians were planning to put an openable hatch on it. Which is b-b-b-brilliant!
Ok, enough with the bashing because we’re here to tell you something really interesting about Tata and a brand new vehicle they’re planning to launch sometime in the future. The yet unnamed vehicle was designed by Marcello Gandini, the same man behind the Lamborghini Miura and the Countach, and features a body made from a composite materials with polymers.
This is supposed to make it 20 percent lighter than a similar architecture made from steel and a lot cheaper as the body needs only about 25 molds. The new vehicle would be powered by a supercharged 1.0-liter engine rated at 90 HP, but further details have yet to be unveiled.
It’s not the most beautiful design Gandini produced so far, but the project sounds more than interesting and we’d be happy to find out more about it. We’ll be right back as soon as more info become available.
