The firm’s GR 450 package was cool and all, but this dials everything to eleven.
We can probably all agree that Toyota’s vicious new Supra is a force to be reckoned with among sports cars. Besides managing to look the part, this little coupe is also capable of performing like an absolute gem on the tarmac. As such, it’s no wonder the Supra found a very special place in the hearts of many gearheads.

The base trim is brought to life by a potent 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four powerplant that’ll gladly produce up to 255 hp at approximately 5,000 rpm. On the other hand, this bad boy will deliver no less than 295 pound-feet (400 Nm) of brutal twisting force between 1,550 and 4,400 revs.

The engine’s power is distributed to the rear wheels by means of an eight-speed automatic transmission, leading to an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph (250 kph). Additionally, Toyota’s sports car will do 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) in as little as 5.2 seconds.

That’s all fine and dandy, but the range-topper in the GR Supra lineup is a different animal. It is put in motion by a mighty 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six unit. At 5,800 revs, the intercooled engine is perfectly capable of summoning as much as 382 hp, while a monstrous torque output of 368 pound-feet (500 Nm) will be supplied between 1,600 and 4,500 rpm.

This whole ordeal leads to a 0-62 mph (0-100 kph) acceleration time of just 4.3 seconds, which is rather remarkable in the Supra's price segment. The entire structure rides on a set of 19-inch forged alloy wheels that wear top-grade disc brakes on all four sides. A MacPherson strut setup supports the Supra up front, while rear suspension duties are taken good care of by a multi-link module.

Now, if that 3.0-liter engine's ferocious oomph still leaves you wanting for more, then Manhart’s GR 550 package might just be the answer to your prayers. To be fair, the tuner in question doesn’t exactly need an introduction, having been featured on autoevolution with its spectacular exploits on several occasions.

Some of the most notable ventures we’ve examined in the past include a MINI JCW GP-based entity that goes by the name of F350 and a BMW M8 Competition with 823 untamed ponies on tap, to name but a couple. Oh, and those with a sharp memory may even remember our publication on Manhart’s previous Supra undertaking – the GR 450.

This time around, Wuppertal’s auto specialists are looking to take things to an entirely new level. The crew went about treating the inline-six monstrosity to a fresh turbocharger and an aftermarket radiator unit from Wagner Tuning, as well as new piping, a stainless-steel exhaust system, and a carbon intake. As a result, output figures have been dialed all the way up to 550 hp and 568 pound-feet (770 Nm) of crushing torque.

Besides these tasty powertrain enhancements, you will also find 20-inch hoops enveloped in a stealthy matte black finish and a juicy front spoiler developed by the experts over at AC Schnitzer. As to suspension upgrades, customers may pick between KW Suspension's three-way coilovers and HR lowering springs.

To top it all off, Manhart blessed the Supra with a graceful golden wrap, complemented by their unmistakable decals, an assortment of black accents, and red pinstripes. Pricing and availability will be disclosed upon request, so we’d encourage you to head straight over to the company’s website for more details – if you happen to be the proud owner of a GR Supra, that is.
