Toyota has announced that four GT 86 sports coupes and one FLA supercar will form the roster for this year’s Nurburgring 24 Hours, taking place this weekend, May 17 to the 20th. Of the five cars, two GT 86 racers and the LFA will be fielded by Gazoo Racing, with the other two cars being used by Toyota Swiss Racing Team.
The teams will be made up of Toyota employees from Japan, taking part to hone their skills and gather experience for further versions. The LFA has already scored two victories on the ‘Ring this year, and the racing GT 86 shows promise after a road rally in Japan.
“The momentum of our team is very good. Our target for the 24 Hours Nürburgring race is to maintain a steady pace, in line with the way we have chosen to set up the vehicles. Nevertheless, we have run at good speed and confident we will be full ready before the 24-hour event,” said Gazoo Racing driver Akira Iida.
