It’s the second practice day at Pikes Peak and Toyota seems to be ready to defend its Electric Class record in the famous climb race.
Driven by Rod Millen, former Pikes Peak overall record holder, the Toyota TMG EV P002 went through intensive testing after receiving important upgrades to its aerodynamics and powertrain in order to beat its own record of 10:15.380.

"We're encouraged by all the work that we've done," said Millen, who set the overall record at Pikes Peak that stood for 13 years in 1994. "If you look at our practice times, we're considerably faster than the car was last year, so we're very optimistic. In addition, we've made some improvements to the car over last year. Our goal is to set a new record in the Electric Class."

There is one more practice day left after which the race begin on 30th this weekend, so stay tuned for more updates from TRD.
