Making the choice to drive green and buying a Toyota Prius for the job doesn’t mean that you can disregard traffic rules, not even if you are a taxi driver on a mission.
And of course you shouldn’t do it if a police car is nearby, like this Prius taxi driver did and got what he deserved.
He was filmed by Bill Walsh, a bicyclist that had it with cars cutting him off and got himself a helmet mounted camera. Approaching an intersection on the bicycle lane, he had to stop, as a driver suddenly wanted to make an illegal U-turn.
Just as the taxi driver took of the opposite way and Bill shouted it’s an illegal action, a Dodge Charger police car that was just behind them turned its sirens and went after the Prius rebel.
