Toyota Preparing Hybrid Attack for Geneva

Earlier today Toyota took the time to remind us that it has prepared a hybrid offensive for the Geneva Auto Show, with the company preparing multiple eco-developments for the event.

The carmaker will use the occasion to introduce the Yaris HSD to the world. We are talking a about a concept that will preview a future B-segment hybrid.

The next step in Toyota’s roll-out of full hybrid versions of its complete model range in Europe, the Yaris HSD concept incorporates hybrid-specific styling cues and new, forward-looking design elements,” a company release reads.

The event will also see the Prius+ making its world debut. This will be a seven-seater full hybrid that will be similar to the Prius v, which was presented at the Detroit Auto Show last month. Toyota promises that it will offer a higher amount of space without sacrificing Prius’s key eco assets.

In addition to that, the carmaker will be showcasing the use of hybrid techs in multiple applications, with the developments scheduled to enter production by the end of the decade.

Going beyond these world-first presentations, Toyota will also be demonstrating the versatility of hybrid power technologies to achieve high efficiency and low or zero emissions in a wide range of vehicle types, including Plug-in Hybrids (PHV), Electric Vehicles (EV) and Fuel Cell Hybrid Vehicles (FCHV) – all of which feature in its product strategy for the present decade,” states the press release.

autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
