The Toyota iQ city car was first shown at the March 2008 Geneva Auto Show, later in October getting on sale in Japan and in January 2009 in Europe.
Its standard 1-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine makes 67 hp and 98 Nm of torque, achieving 4.3 l/100 km (55 mpg), which makes it ideal for urban traffic.

With the oldest one you can found having four years of usage and considering Toyota vehicle’s longevity, it’s pretty hard to buy a faulty used one if its previous owner(s) took care of it.

What you can check, is the plastic slats in the narrow front grille, which can crack, and its service record. Of course, you should also check its simmetry and body panels alignment to see if it had a nasty accident at some point.

Other than that, you should search for the second generation iQs, as their are the only ones coming with air conditioning as standard.
