The Toyota GT 86 is the kind of sports car that’s perfectly suited to receiving aftermarket parts and the latest set of mods for the car comes from KW Automotive.
The suspension specialist offers a range of three kits:KW coilovers Variant 3+, KW Clubsport 2-way without top mounts and KW Clubsport 2-way with top mounts Competition. All of them allow the driver to lower the coupe by between 20 and 50 mm, as well as adjust the bound and rebound rates.

"By the rebound valves which are adjustable with 16 exact clicks directly from the engine compartment in the damper piston, it is easy to adjust the handling and comfort to the personal requirements such as bigger wheels than in series," KW Product Manager Johannes Wacker explains. "At the lower end of the piston in the stainless steel housing, we have integrated our patented compression adjustment to adjust the compression damping with twelve click steps."

While the Variant 3+ inox-line is best suited for street use, trackday enthusiasts can opt for the KW Clubsport 2-way Coilovers, which offer custom racing springs and a firmer setup for the shock absorbers. For the version fitted with top mounts, the bound/rebound can be fully adjusted, while the alignment can only be modified for the front axle.
