BMW 1-Series M Coupe Gets KW Variant 3 Coilover Suspension

You’d think that the cornering gurus at BMW’s M division would have done a proper job with the new 1-Series M Coupe, but that hasn’t stopped some people from trying to improve on the design. KW makes coilover suspensions for everything from the VW Beetle to the Audi R8 V10 Spyder, and now they have turned their attention to the smallest of the Bavarians’ performance offerings.

The KW Variant 3 coilover kit promises to enhance the M’s agility, improve high-speed handling, and give greater feedback to the driver from the road, or track. It also allows a drop of up to 35 mm at the front and 25 mm at the rear. In addition diving under braking is reduced and even ride qualities is a little better. Thanks to the new adjustment technology, rebound and compression can be adjusted separately and progressively.

“Small yet powerful is how BMW presents the sportiest model of its 1-series. With its Version 3 coilover suspensions, KW has developed the perfect solution to enable the BMW 1-series M Coupe to whiz around corners even better than before and significantly enhance the agility of the compact Bavarian-made car. In particular, the enhanced adjustable compression damping allows the M Coupe to expertly master sharp bends,”
the manufacturer boasts.

The Version 3 coilover kit is available now for the BMW 1-series M Coupe for €1879 in Germany, including VAT. As is usually the case, the suspension expert from Germany delivers the Version 3 kit as a ready-to-install complete solution. Struts, dust protection systems and all other components are already pre-assembled and ready to install.
