Toyota managed to distance itself from the challenges of 2010 and 2011 this year and claimed its global sales leadership position, through its refreshed designed, upscale interiors, same reliability and smart marketing campaigns.
The Japanese automaker managed to achieve 10th position in this year’s Best Global Brands award. It’s not in the top five, where is the consumerist electronics area, but it makes for the first place in the auto industry, with a raise of 17% in value, scoring $35,346 $m. Second automaker is Mercedes-Benz with $31,904 $m, followed shortly by BMW with $31,839 $m.

The brand not only scored well with customers, but has led the entire automotive segment nearly every time. Adding to the list of achievements, Prius sales pushed boldly past the three million mark. The Prius continues to create a powerful halo effect for the brand while the flagship mid-cycle Camry can still drive sales, albeit with increasingly more incentives and support.
