The Toyota Corolla is no longer sold as a hatchback in Europe since 2007 when it was replaced by the Auris, which was position by the Japanese company to compete with cars such as the Volkswagen Golf and the Ford Focus.
But what if Toyota were to bring the Corolla hatch back to the Old Continent as a rival for the almighty Golf? It’s obviously near impossible, but automotive manipulator Theophilus Chin thinks an Euro-spec hatchback Corolla “might be a worthy alternative” in its class.
While such a move would be rather useless for the Japanese manufacturer, a Toyota hatchback could make better use of the Corolla name (instead of the Auris) once thrown in the lion’s den. What do you think?
In case you missed the unveiling that took place about two weeks ago, you can check out the Euro-spec 2014 Toyota Corolla sedan here. There’s also a video with the new vehicle that’ll be produced in Istanbul, Turkey.
