Toyota Corolla Ad Shows Why You Should Elevate Your Drive

Automakers nowadays are far from simply advertising a car. Now, customers have to find themselves in the ad, to recognize the characters as if it were them starring in the commercial. That’s pretty much Toyota’s new plan of making people buy their new Corolla.
And when you’re young and reckless, where do you most likely see yourself? Sloppy and low on cash, of course. And that means you’re driving a car worthy of almost zero respect. The looks are so bad, you don’t even have a rightful name for it. You eat in the car, wash it only when it rains and treat it like you’d handle the neighborhood’s stray dog. So far so good, right?

But then Toyota shows the same you some years later, when you presumably have made something out of your studying years and now can afford a better car. A new, shiny car, that is... well, the 2015 Toyota Corolla, of course.

These days, you’re not allowing your college friend to eat in the car, stickers are not to be put on the bumper anymore and taking the car to a new wash is something that gives you shivers.

The rest of the story is pretty much highlighted in the video below which, by the way, seems to be some sort of collaboration between Toyota and BuzzFeed. Is it weird? Nope. In fact, the two have been collaborating before. It was about two years ago when the social media channel has worked for about a month with the Japanese to promote the Toyota Prius c small hybrid car.

Sure, the Corolla isn't exactly the American dream, but then again, this is a Toyota ad, so what did you expect?
