Apart for a reason to see the beautiful Northern Lights, the other reason for going so far north was to test the new Toyota Auris Hybrid Touring Sport’s performance in well sub-zero temperatures.
Everyone knows that extreme cold can affect electric machines... hell, it can affect anything, most German tanks were rendered useless by low temperatures when they were invading Russia in WWII.

Anyway, modern technology enabled us to laugh in front of the coldness, and even a gasoline-electric family car can easily reach the Arctic Circle. The Toyota Auris Hybrid Touring Sports is one of them.

The 2014 Toyota Auris Hybrid Touring Sports’ refined hybrid system performs normally at temperatures as low as -24C while its snug interior will keep you warmed via its climate control and heated seats.
